Nickelodeon Germany To Adapt Nickelodeon Netherlands' "Spotlight"

The German casting portal UFA Talentbase is reporting the exciting news that Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland) is adapting Nickelodeon Netherlands' (Nederland) successful daily scripted TV series Spotlight for local audiences!

Spotlight is a scripted series set at Podium, a drama school that specialises in the development of artistic talent in the entertainment industry. The series offers the viewer a glimpse into the lives of five young talented students at the theatrical school where pupils are groomed for a career in the spotlight with lessons in singing, dancing, acting, presenting and cabaret, from classical to modern.

In Spotlight, students Sanne, Lynn, Fem, Kess, Joris and newcomer Deb share their wishes, dreams, mischief, fears and setbacks with viewers. They show the bumpy road to adulthood: from new friendships to being the best in your dance class, and singing a song about your first love. All with the goal of life in the spotlight.

The Dutch version of Spotlight stars Sammy Uivel as Sanne, Kaylee van Schuilenburg as Lynn, Jip Wassenberg as Fem, Leslie de Koning as Kess, Danny Dorland as Joris and Indy Luna Correa as newcomer Deb. The series premiered on Nickelodeon Benelux in May 2015.

For the German version of Spotlight, Nickelodeon and UFA Talentbase are seeking talented young actors, singers, dancers, and musicians to be in the series, including to play the male and female leads! Applicants need to be aged between 15-20 years and have completed the 10th grade. Filming is slated to start on Monday 1st August 2016 in Berlin. Full information, including on how to apply, can be found here on the official UFA Talentbase website, ufa-talentbase.de! Good luck!
