Nickelodeon Australia Looking For Volunteers For SLIMEFEST 2013

The biggest annual event for Aussie kids is back for Nickelodeon's SLIMEFEST 2013, and Nickelodeon Australia needs YOUR help and expertise to make sure the event runs smoothly!

This year's SLIMEFEST event will be held at Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre on Friday 27th September 2013. SLIMEFEST 2013 promises to be an amazing event filled with the stars kids love, musical performances, including by Nick's very own music sensation "Big Time Rush" and the Australian pop, R&B, and soul singer-songwriter Guy Sebastian, spectacular surprises, festival area with heaps of stuff to do and don't forget the famous Nickelodeon Slime!


The Australian media, marketing and entertainment news website mUmBRELLA is reporting the amazing news that Nickelodeon Australia is looking for volunteers to assist in a variety of areas at this year's event! If you are looking for some invaluable event work experience or would just like to come and join in for a few days of madness and mayhem, Nickelodeon WANTS YOU!

Nickelodeon AU is currently looking for volunteers for the following positions:

1. Talent Escort Position
POSITION DESCRIPTION
You will be responsible for looking after on stage talent and ensuring that their schedule commitments are met. These commitments include make-up, wardrobe, rehearsal, publicity and on-stage appearances. You will be dedicated to one celebrity or act during the entire event. You will need to be organised and a good communicator as you will be liaising with celebrities and reporting to the talent management team.

2. On Stage De-Slime Crew/De-Slime Wardrobe Team
POSITION DESCRIPTION
You will be responsible for cleaning the stage between acts under the instruction of the stage management team. You will report to the Stage Manager. You will also be responsible for assisting the talent in wardrobe changes after sliming. You will report to the wardrobe supervisor.

3. Wardrobe Team
POSITION DESCRIPTION
You will be responsible for assisting the professional wardrobe team with daily operations on this production. Your duties will include "hat check" of wardrobe items; assisting with the steaming and/or ironing of all onstage talent wardrobe.

Slimed clothes – ensure performers / talent slimed clothes are bagged and tagged ready for collection for dry cleaning. Itemising every thing the talent wore and ensuring everything goes into the one bag.

4. Event Guest Relations & Event Assistants
POSITION DESCRIPTION
You may be assigned a position that will require you to assist with sponsor activations, patron directions, queue management, meeting and greeting guests who are entering the venue areas that include invited guests & media. Other areas Nick are looking for assistants are in the areas of: directing guests throughout the venue to the appropriate areas, handling merchandise and assisting with sampling and general event assistants where you will be required to assist in deliveries and general duties. You must be well presented, enjoy working with people, be able to communicate effectively and have a happy outgoing personality.

5. Media Relations Assistants
POSITION DESCRIPTION
You will be responsible for looking after the set up of the media registration area & greeting invited guests & media.
You will be also be responsible for ensuring media have their correct accreditation and resources in order for them to report on the event – this will involve working in the media assembly area and media room. You must be well presented, enjoy working with people, be able to communicate effectively and have a happy outgoing personality. Ideally you have an interest in and some experience with the media.

6. Event Production Runners
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Assist the production and stage management team in the production of SlimeFest. The role will require the volunteer to assist in administrative and production elements of the show and a current driver's licence would be an advantage.

* You need to be available on Wednesday, 25th September 2013 from 6-8 pm and all day on Thursday, 26th and Friday, 27th September 2013

* You need to be at least 18 years of age

* You will need to have a good sense of humour
