British Open-Water Swimmer Daniel Fogg Appeared On Nickelodeon With His Brother When They Were Growing Up

Daniel Fogg is an open-water swimmer specialising in the 1500m race. Here are his vital statistics.

1. At school Fogg was good at basketball and athletics, but when he joined Borough of Waltham Forest SC he realised swimming was his passion.

2. He entered the London 2012 Games on a high after setting new English record of 14:55.30minutes in the trials.

3. Fogg qualified for the Games after beating double Olympic medallist David Davies to win the 1500m freestyle at the London Aquatics Centre in March.

4. In June, he became the third Brit ever to duck under 15 minutes and edged out David Davies to a 10km open water place.

5. His sporting heroes are Lance Armstrong and former Olympic gold medallist swimmer Alexander Popov.

6. Fogg has had a top 20 finish at the 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 World Open Water Championships.

7. His biggest career disappointment so far was failing to qualify for the Beijing 2008 Olympics

8. Fogg believes in training hard. He says: “All the hard work I have put in in the pool for the last God knows how many years has paid off.”

9. The open-water swimmer is a lifelong Tottenham Hotspur fan and aged four attended Spurs's open top bus parade after winning the FA Cup in 1991.
